The story of our founder, Giuseppe, began in Italy in 1940. Mamma Rosa, Giuseppe’s mother, spent her days working "with love" in the kitchen for the large family. Giuseppe, the youngest and most ambitious of his nine brothers, has “a dream” and wishes to do more for his beloved mother. He wanted to open a restaurant where fresh and traditional home-made food were supposed to be the staple for its guests.

One day, he decided that it was time to emigrate and seek fortune in the beautiful city of Florence ... 
He was only 20 when his wish had come true. He opened with his cousin Mario a small trattoria in Piazza Santa Croce.  In a short time, the whole family joined him in Florence and Trattoria Casa Toscana became famous throughout the city.

Today, the family no longer owns the restaurant but Giuseppe's values re still alive. His photo on the wall reminds us every day that "cooking great traditional food is not a business but a lifestyle"

After many generations, our cuisine still offers dishes of the Florentine and regional tradition...
From soups to homemade pasta, every dish is prepared in full respect of the original recipes, handed down in the decades by “mamma Rosa” to her family. 

A different story is the one that talks about our grill:
grilled and roasted meat belong to the culinary tradition of our territory: mixed spit, "rosticciana", oven roasts and the classic bistecca "alla Fiorentina", the aged Florentine steak, are prepared to perfection for the enjoyment of our customers.
